Bulk water supply infrastructure like dams, weirs, canals, pipelines and pump stations help ensure a safe and reliable water supply to communities and industries. This includes both potable and non-potable delivery systems.

We understand the challenges our clients face in providing sufficient water supply to rapidly expanding end users, aging infrastructure and serving increasing industrial use.

At Zutari, we have more than 80 years’ experience in developing bulk conveyance and distribution systems for water, wastewater, irrigation, hydropower, and storm water management. Our capabilities are complemented by our strength in dam engineering, water resources management, water and wastewater treatment, and infrastructure advisory services.

We specialise in:

  • Strategic planning and network modelling, performance and capacity analysis, route corridor studies, and lifecycle costing
  • Gravity systems and pressure trunks, hydraulic analysis, including water hammer and surge analysis and computational fluid dynamics, material science and corrosion protection systems, the civil, mechanical and electrical design of pump stations, and digital automation systems
  • Operational performance evaluation, asset management, rehabilitation and replacement advice
  • Pipeline installation quality assurance testing and monitoring and system commissioning

Our extensive office network across Africa, ensures that our integrated team of pipeline hydraulics, options analysis and design, pump station optimisation and design, civil, mechanical, electrical and digital experts can apply local knowledge and technical expertise. Our team provides a whole-of-life service through planning, analysis and design, construction monitoring and operational and asset management services, as well as rehabilitation and upgrading services.
