Zutari to play a key role in revival of
local automotive industry.
Zutari is supporting the fast-tracked roll-out of the Tshwane Automotive Special Economic Zone (TASEZ), located near the existing Ford facility in Silverton.
Zutari was appointed in March 2020 by the Coega Development Corporation (CDC) to provide design and supervision of the enabling infrastructure for the first phases of the project, among other things.
This includes internal civil engineering services and associated bulk infrastructure upgrades such as a new 15 Ml reservoir and a water supply pipeline, upgrades to the existing outfall sewer, as well as road and intersection improvements. Zutari will also provide civil and structural conceptual design input into each of the identified supplier sites.
The total construction value of this initiative is approximately R2.8 billion, making it
the biggest development currently underway in Tshwane, with automotive suppliers receiving tax incentives and lucrative opportunities to invest in an auto zone that will provide Ford with various parts for vehicle construction and exports. As such, the project presents a much-needed injection of foreign direct investment into the region.
Zutari is excited to partners with the Gauteng Department of Economic Development, the Tshwane Economic Development Agency and the Department of Trade and Industry to bring this initiative to life; facilitating exports of locally produced products, attracting investment, developing industrial infrastructure and, ultimately, creating much-needed jobs.
Zutari’s multi-disciplinary team to play a key role in the biggest development currently underway in Tshwane.
