Update on the Mogoditshane-Gabane-Mmankgodi Road Project – Data Collection

Zutari (Botswana) has been appointed as the Development Manager by the Government of the Republic of Botswana, as represented by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, for the Mogoditshane-Gabane-Mmankgodi road project.

The project entails the upgrading of the following roads:

  • Road A10 (Mogoditshane to Mmankgodi junction) from a single carriageway to a dual carriageway road from km 10.760 to km 35.900.
  • Road A129 (Pula spar to the intersection with the Gabane road) from a single carriageway to a dual carriageway road i.e.
    • Section 1: from Road A10 (Gabane road) to Road A12 (Molepolole road) approximately 2.462km and
    • Section 2: from Road A12 (Molepolole road) to Pula Spar approximately 2.170km
  • Road A12 to be upgraded with a split-level interchange at the crossing with road A129, with a total length of approximately 1.280km.

In finalizing the design of the portion of the road from Pula Spar to the intersection between Road A129 with Road A10 (commonly referred to as Mogoditshane senior stop), it came to our attention that certain properties along the route encroach the road reserve. To accommodate the dual carriage way road as well the relocation of the existing services it will require that these properties will have to be expropriated.

A kgotla meeting was held on 29 November 2024 at Mogoditshane village. The purpose of this meeting was to sensitize the village leaderships and the community about the need to identify the plot owners whose properties will be affected by the construction of the road.

With this publication we wish to extend our request to those who could not attend the kgotla meeting to cooperate with our team that will be delegated to carry out a data collection exercise regarding the affected properties. Information gathered from plot owners will be the names and contact details only.

This exercise is set to commence on 9 December 2024 and will be carried out by the following Zutari personnel.

  1. Otlhabane Keresepe
  2. Lebole Segajane
  3. Ashanti Tabengwa
  4. Jabilly Muwonge
  5. Alan Sehunelo

For purposes of identification, the above listed individuals will present their ID cards (Omang), a company letter and will gear up in the Zutari branded PPE as reflected in the image below.
