Scholars
We offer an exciting scholar programme for Grade 11 and 12 learners interested in pursuing an impactful career in engineering through our partnership with NPO’s such as Primestars and Protec. We aim to tap into the talent at the grassroots level to support young scholars with academic assistance and provide them with career guidance, as well as access to funding opportunities to pursue careers in engineering.

Our bursary scheme for South African students

We provide comprehensive course funding and all-round support to help students successfully complete their engineering studies.

Eligibility criteria
Qualification disciplines: BSc or BEng in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical/Electronic, Mechatronics, Industrial, and Chemical Engineering, and/or related disciplines.
Minimum academic requirements:
- Grade 12 – A level 7 symbol in Mathematics and Science and an overall average of at least 75%
- First year – An overall average of at least 70%
- Second year – An overall average of at least 65%
- Third year – An overall average of at least 65%

To be an eligible recipient, we will require:
- A Word or PDF copy of your CV
- A certified copy of your South African ID or Smart Card ID card
- Proof of acceptance or registration at an accredited or recognised university
- A certified copy of Grade 12 results
- First-third year students should submit a copy of their latest transcript
Once our emerging talent team has reviewed all applications, shortlisted candidates will be asked to attend a panel interview at one of our offices. Final awards will be based on the candidate’s financial needs, academic performance, field of study and interview score.

Our application process
Vacation work
Our vacation work programme is hosted at our major offices: Tshwane, Cape Town, and eThekwini during June-July, November- December and January-February period. It is designed for talented university students who are pursuing studies in engineering. Our vacation work programme provides an opportunity for valued bursars, external applicants, and referrals from universities and technical institutions to experience the world of work and complete their studies.
Our emerging talent team works with selected tertiary institutions around South Africa to identify high-performing students who can participate in the programme.
The participating students will be able to learn more about Zutari and network with Zutari staff.

Work-integrated learning

Our (WIL) workplace integrated learning programme strategically partners with institutions to provide students with the opportunity to apply their learning and gain industry exposure as well as the technical experience to complete their qualification. During this time, students will acquire and build on technical and transferable skills, such as analytical ability, leadership, problem-solving, and teamwork skills, through meaningful work.
Our WIL programme runs for a fixed term of 6-months.

Zutari is committed to providing interns with a rich and immersive experience designed to not only enhance their technical abilities but also to cultivate essential soft skills such as analytical ability, leadership, problem-solving, and teamwork skills, through engaging work.
Our goal is to ensure that every intern leaves our programme with a tangible sense of accomplishment, witness firsthand the impact their contributions have made on a project/work experience piece, for example, seeing a finished client deliverable.
We offer a 12-month fixed-term internship aimed at talented individuals who have completed their final year. This unique opportunity allows them to apply their knowledge in a real-world setting and make meaningful contributions.

Qualification: NDip, BTech, BEng, BEng Tech, and Advanced Diploma.
Discipline: Civil, Mechanical, Electrical/Electronic, Industrial, Mechatronics, Geotechnical, Pavement, Structural; Ports and Coastal, Chemical, Multi-Discipline Modeller.
We currently only have internships available in selected RSA offices!

We aim to nurture and develop the next generation of solutionists. Our graduate programme aims to provide recent graduates with the opportunity to gain practical experience, refine technical skills and fulfil their ambitions of becoming registered engineers and enablers who hold eminence within the industry.
The programme will help us build a strong pipeline of professional engineers and future leaders through structured development, mentorship and exposure to meaningful work.
