As we look ahead into FY25 with our blueprint of becoming a fully digital practice, the FY24 Sustainability Report reflects our commitments and tangible positive changes we strive to create for communities, economies and the environment.
The report provides a detailed account of Zutari’s performance in various sustainability metrics, including energy consumption, waste reduction, and community engagement. It illuminates the company’s strategies for integrating sustainability into its core operations and highlights success stories that demonstrate the real-world impact of these initiatives.
This report reflects our dedication to responsible corporate practices and our mission to inspire change within the industries we serve. We believe that transparency is crucial in our journey towards sustainability, and we are excited to share our progress with our stakeholders.
Key highlights of the report include:
- Carbon footprint reduction: We have reduced carbon emissions by 55 tonnes compared to the previous year, thanks to the implementation of energy-efficient technologies and renewable energy sources across our operations.
- Community engagement: We have partnered with local organisations on various projects aimed at enhancing community resilience and promoting environmental education. These include sponsoring community clean-up events and workshops on sustainable practices.
- Sustainable design practices: The report features innovative projects that incorporate sustainable design principles, including green building certifications and landscape projects that prioritise biodiversity.
- Valuing our people: The health, safety, and well-being of our staff are paramount. In FY24, we conducted a health and safety maturity assessment to identify areas for improvement. We’re determined to elevate our maturity from the “proactive” approach to the “resilient” category, ensuring a safe and supportive work environment
- Emerging talent growth: Our investment of R1,620,000 in undergraduate bursaries for top students exemplifies our commitment to fostering fairness, inclusivity, diversity, and growth within our organisation.
As we progress into FY25, we remain focused on creating a footprint of positive impact through sustainable infrastructure development. We are proud of the many milestones we’ve achieved and are excited about the future as we continue to innovate, elevate our practices, and engage meaningfully with our communities.
