RCRC Road Programme – Constructability Engineering, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Developing an implementation roadmap for Riyadh’s extensive road programme, addressing constructability and traffic impacts.

Client

Royal Commission of Riyadh City (RCRC), Partner: Buro Happold

Project date

2023-2025

The Royal Commission of Riyadh City (RCRC) is undertaking a major road programme to enhance connectivity and urban mobility. The initiative covers 24 roads and 40 corridors, with a combined length exceeding 500 km, making it one of the most significant infrastructure projects in the region.

The opportunity

The challenge was to create an implementation roadmap that considers constructability issues, highway design standards, traffic impacts and cost optimisation. The programme required strategic packaging options to manage complexity and minimise disruption during construction.

What we did

Zutari was appointed as a sub-consultant to Buro Happold to deliver:

  • Constructability engineering review

  • Highway design assessment

  • Traffic and surrounding area impact analysis

  • Packaging strategies for phased delivery

  • Cost profiling and optimisation recommendations

This approach ensures technical feasibility and efficient execution across all corridors.
The RCRC Road Programme sets a new benchmark for urban mobility, integrating engineering precision with strategic planning.

The outcome

The roadmap developed by Zutari supports RCRC’s vision for a modern, resilient and efficient road network. By addressing constructability and traffic considerations early, the programme is positioned for successful delivery with minimal disruption.

This project demonstrates Zutari’s expertise in delivering strategic engineering solutions for large-scale urban infrastructure. By combining technical insight with practical planning, Zutari helps shape the future of mobility in Riyadh.

Zutari’s constructability review ensures Riyadh’s road programme is both technically sound and operationally efficient.
