Dubai Expo 2020 was the first World Expo to be hosted in the Middle East, Africa or South Asia, giving visitors from around the world a unique opportunity to share ideas, explore innovations, encourage collaboration and celebrate human ingenuity. Located within this global event, the Dubai Exhibition Centre (DEC) Campus stands as the UAE’s leading exhibition venue and the principal entry point for Expo 2020.

The opportunity

The development of the DEC provided an opportunity to deliver a world-class exhibition facility capable of hosting large-scale events, conferences and international gatherings. As part of the wider Expo 2020 precinct, the project required meticulous planning, strong coordination and high-quality technical delivery to support the Expo’s ambitious standards for design, user experience and operational performance.

What we did

Working alongside Woods Bagot Architects, Zutari (previously Aurecon) provided multi-disciplinary engineering design and supervision services for the Dubai Exhibition Centre. This included serving as Architect of Record and delivering integrated solutions to support the project’s architectural intent, structural performance, building services and operational requirements.
