Qatar Pavilion

Qatar Pavilion delivered in mere months thanks to radical collaboration and innovative workflows.

With mere months to complete the ambitious Pavilion, Zutari and their partners rose to the challenge, showing what can be achieved in an environment of trust and collaboration.

Zutari is proud to have partnered with the State of Qatar to provide all engineering services and construction supervision for their pavilion on the Dubai Expo 2020. With four partners working together to design and build the Pavilion in time for the Expo; the project required everyone to connect differently and work smarter; setting a new standard for collaboration and efficiency in the process.

The project provided an ideal opportunity to pilot Zutari’s bespoke Design and Build strategy. Focused on adopting digital workflows, the strategy ensures effective downstream procurement through early engagement of subcontractors and suppliers.

Zutari effectively coordinated a project team working from several global location through the use of digital, cloud-based Building Information Modelling (BIM) tools.Critical to the success of the project, these tools allowed all stakeholders to engage across disciplines to deliver a coordinated design with speed and accuracy.

Zutari’s non-traditional approach to Design and Build projects had an immense impact on the successful delivery of the Quatar Pavilion. What’s more, this approach continues to shape construction collaboration on future projects, and is changing the way Design and Build collaboration is implemented throughout the Middle East.

Qatar showcased what people can achieve when working towards the same goal; implementing non-linear strategies and very productive methodologies to deliver on time, keeping a close eye on quality and budget.” Walid Zarzor, Qatar Pavilion Construction Director for ALEC Fit-Out.
